There’s moments you’re expecting (la version française suit)
Last weekend (21st+22nd of august) was one of those. Booked months ago, the shows in Paris and Bochum were promising: we were supporting Gold Kids from Italy and Lewd Acts (USA/Deathwish) on both dates!

To illustrate, I’ve posted new pictures on our Flickr set.

In Paris we met with Gwen and Cecile and the other kids promoting the show… Everyone was very friendly and we had a great time. Le Klub is a small venue in the middle of the city (it took Matt 45mins to park the van), down in a tiny basement. It was very warm and we had people dancing at the end of the show (which is quite good, as our previous show in Paris was three years ago in another basement called the Saphir 21) next time, I’ll try the human pyramid! Thanks again to everyone who showed up that night! The vegan couscous was great and both Gold Kids and Lewd Acts are very nice guys!

After the show, Cecile and her friend Adrien took us to a quick sightseeing tour of Paris. We ended up at the Eiffel Tower, and even had the chance to take the last elevator up! We slept (a little) at Cecile’s place that night.

Next day was in Bochum
(560km drive from Paris), we played the Zwichenfall which is a very big club/disco in the suburbs of the city, they had lots of great bands playing there before us (NOFX, Dropkick Murphys and mega much more), and it was a pleasure to meet our friend Kai from Winston&George there! We love that german dude!
Just like in Paris, everyone was so friendly, and Joe, the promoter, invited some great vegan cookers to make the food for the bands and people. We had the best vegan brownie ever, in my opinion even better than some « real » brownie.
Nobody ever heard about us there (maybe two or three people?) and we had to open the show in front of 30 people, which wasn’t bad: I had the whole place to jump around (no thanks to my cramps)!

We had vegan stuff for two days, and decided to stop by the Burger King (Germany’s pride) before driving back home. Was a fun weekend for sure, and I really expect more of those in the future! Thanks again to everyone we met, and last but not least, thanks to Chris, our favourite roadie for his help!

Il y a des moments qu’on attend impatiemment Le weekend dernier (21 et 22 août) était un de ceux là. Bookés il y a quelques mois, les concerts de Paris et Bochum étaient prometteurs: on jouait les deux dates avec les Italiens de Gold Kids et Lewd Acts (USA/Deathwish).

Pour illustrer la chose, j’ai posté des photos sur notre set Flickr.

A Paris, nous avons donc rencontré Gwen, Cécile et toute la bande qui organisait le concert, tout le monde super sympa et la soirée fût excellente! Le Klub est une petite cave en plein centre ville (il a fallu 45 minutes à Matt pour garer la camionette), très chaude et humide (hum…). Quelques personnes ont même fini par danser et ce malgré le fait que notre dernière visite datait de 3 ans et que personne n’avait dû nous voir à l’époque. La prochaine fois, je tente la pyramide humaine! Merci encore à tous ceux qui sont venus ce soir là, le couscous végé était super et Gold Kids et Lewd Acts sont vraiment cool.

Après le concert, qui a fini assez tôt (une soirée gothique?), on a visité la ville avec Cécile et son pote Adrien, Invalides, Champs-Elysées… on a fini par monter au deuxième étage de la Tour Eiffel! On a dormi chez Cécile ce soir là.

Le concert suivant était prévu à Bochum
(à 560km de Paris), nous avons joué au Zwichenfall qui est un gros club/discothèque dans la périphérie de Bochum, il y a eu pas mal de bons groupes qui ont joué là avant nous (NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, …) et on a également eu le plaisir de retrouver notre copain Kai (guitariste de Winston&George), qui est passé nous faire un petit coucou, on adore ce mec. Un peu comme à Paris, tout le monde est vraiment sympa, et en plus, Joe, l’organisateur, a prévu de la très bonne bouffe vegan pour le public et les groupes; je pense avoir mangé le meilleur brownie végétarien possible, et je l’ai trouvé même meilleurs que d’autres recettes disons, normales. Je pense pas que beaucoup de monde avait entendu parler de nous là bas avant, et on a ouvert le festival devant une trentaine de personnes, ce qui était pas vraiment grave… Il me restait toute la place pour faire mes singeries, et ce malgré quelques crampes!

Après avoir mangé végétarien pendant deux jours, on a décidé de se taper un bon Burger King avant de rentrer. C’était un excellent weekend, et j’espère vraiment en refaire souvent. Merci encore à tous les gens que nous avons rencontré, et merci aussi à notre petit Chris le roadie pour son aide!
